Northstone trio take on cycling challenge for WaterAid

Next Story
July 16, 2021

Jon England, James Forrington and Steve Pownall, all from Northstone, are joining James Whittaker, Executive Director of Development at Peel L&P, for a stretch in a mammoth cycling challenge to raise money for WaterAid.

The challenge will see James Whittaker cycle the entire 5,700km coast of Britain over 31 days throughout July, covering approximately 185km a day, starting and finishing in St Andrews, Scotland – no mean feat! The Northstone trio will be joining him between Rhosneigr and Heswall, covering a distance of 187km.

James has already smashed his £25,000 target, and is now looking to raise £40,000 for WaterAid to provide clean water to extremely vulnerable communities. One in ten people across the world do not have access to clean water. With Climate Change and Foreign Aid cuts making the situation much worse, WaterAid seeks to change the lives of the poorest communities by funding facilities which can bring clean water to the poorest of places.

Congratulations James and good luck to Jon, James and Steve from Northstone – the whole team will be rooting for you!
